Dear Campers and Parents,
We are very excited about St. Mary of Egypt Camp for the Summer of 2010! We have
lots of news to share and we look forward to seeing how our Lord will bless our
camp and all of the campers and staff, to the Glory of God!
The biggest news is that we are moving to beautiful Bear Paw Camp in Newport,
Washington about 90 minutes north of Spokane. We loved our years on Liberty Lake
in Spokane Valley and look forward to the possibilities that Bear Paw present: a
chance to grow a bit and offer a few new programs. The dining hall is bigger and
there is a swimming pool! The camp is truly beautiful and sits on the bank of
the Pend Oreille River.
The second piece of news to share is that this year camp will be held from
Monday, August 2 through Saturday, August 7. Bear Paw Camp is such a popular
place that we are reserving the only week available to us. It will be a new
experience to conduct camp during the Dormition Fast, and it will also be an
incredible blessing as we place ourselves faithfully in the hands of our Camp
Spiritual Father, Fr. Justin Havens from the church of Saints Peter and Paul in
Salt Lake City. Many years, Fr. Justin!
That's all for now. Thank you for entrusting your wonderful children to St. Mary
of Egypt and the loving community for whom she prays. Have a very blessed Great
and Holy Lent, and may God richly bless you and those whom you love!
With love in Christ,
Subdeacon James Robinson
Camp Director
